The extremely high moisture levels in this customer's crawlspace had caused significant damage to the center support beam. Here we used existing piers and temporary jacks to lift the floor off the old cracked and rotting beam so we could replace it with new, pressure-treated lumber. Once we replaced the beam, we advised this customer to have a sump system and dehumidifier installed in order to keep the high moisture levels in check.
For a homeowner from Parkesburg, PA, a troubling vertical crack running from floor to ceiling signaled a call for help. Previous DIY attempts had only worsened the situation. This customer's crawlspace was wet, moldy and in dire need of attention. We started here by removing the old insulation and doing a full mold remediation. Nextt we added Silverglo insulated wall panels around the perimeter of the crawlspace. We then installed our Cleanspace drainage matting and Cleanspace liner which will provide a barrier against moisture and water intrusion. We also installed a Supersump sump pump system, this system come with a liner, a cast iron pump, a pump stand and an airtight lid with a built-in floor drain and WaterWatch alarm system. Lastly, we installed a Sanidry Sedona dehumidifier to check the humidity levels in check.
A wet crawlspace or basement is not something any homeowner wants to deal with when they move into their new home and with this knowledge, this customer knew, before they could put their home on the market, they would need to correct the issue of a leaky crawlspace.
After we sent our inspector Keith Miller to evaluate the crawlspace, he saw that the customer already had a working sump pump in play, but there was no way for the water that was getting into the crawlspace, to get over to the sump pump. Right away Keith knew the solution to this wet crawlspace was our CleanSpace Vapor Barrier and our Waterguard. The Cleanspace will direct any water intrusion down to the Waterguard which will then direct that water over to their current sump pump to be pumped out of the crawlspace.
