Facing a damp and dreary basement in Duluth, MN, one homeowner enlisted our help as they prepared to downsize and pass on their beloved home to their daughter. The before photo reveals the challenge: moisture penetration making the space unusable. We embarked on transforming it with our WaterGuard® drainage system and CleanSpace® lining, noticeable in the after photo. The result? In Duluth, MN, a homeowner had big dreams of turning their half-finished basement into a comfortable living area, complete with a new bathroom and laundry space. To resolve this, we installed our WaterGuard® and CleanSpace® systems to tackle the moisture issues at their source. This Duluth, MN had been standing for 100 years when homeowners bought it in 2012. They started noticing water coming in through cracks in the north wall of the basement, leading to damage to the walls and floor. Looking for a permanent solution, they reached out to DBS after learning about us on local radio. 

DBS Design Specialist Henrik Makitalo visited the home and conducted a free, no-obligation estimate for the work in the basement. It was determined that a WaterGuard® drainage system would be dug around the perimeter of the basement, accompanied by the CleanSpace® vapor barrier on the wall. 

DBS Field Supervisor Kevin Steffey was the foreman on the job, leading the production crew's installation of the mentioned products. The waterproofing system was completed with two sump pumps, SuperSump® Premier Pump System and an UltraSump®. Those pumps were connected to discharge lines, connected to IceGuard® drains to prevent wintertime freezing. 

This property manager in Duluth, MN reached out to DBS for help keeping the basement dry in a home they own. They wanted to ensure that their residents had a safe and comfortable basement for storage and laundry. 

DBS Sales Manager Royce Bunn was the Design Specialist for the project and visited the home to provide a free, no-obligation estimate for the work. A DBS foreman and crew installed a WaterGuard® subfloor drainage system that would lead any water into a new SuperSump® Premier Pump System. This SuperSump® pump has a Zoeller cast-iron pump that is powerful and can pump up to 2,280 gallons per hour.

A DBS foreman and crew installed 29 linear feet of WaterGuard® and a new electrical outlet to power the sump pump. This home is now healthy, safe, and comfortable!
