Water would leak into this Farmington, MN basement and pool during periods of heavy rainfall. Wanting to eventually completely finish their basement, the owners knew they needed to tackle the water issue.
DBS Production Manager Jason Brummer was the Design Specialist for the waterproofing project. He assessed the home's foundation on the interior and exterior of the home. Finding no major structural issues, he determined the best course of action would be to install an interior waterproofing system.
DBS Foreman Zach Jorenby and his waterproofing crew began the installation by excavating concrete around the perimeter of the basement. The crew then installed WaterGuard® interior drain tile. Water enters the system via inlet holes in the drain and it is carried to the basement sump pump. Once the WaterGuard® is in place, our team covers the drain with concrete to completely conceal the system.
A homeowner in Ashland, WI was concerned about her basement as it was often damp and noticed cracks and bowing in the walls of the basement. She turned to DBS for a permanent solution for her basement.
Our Design Specialist, Henrik Makitalo, visited the home and provided the homeowner with a free, no obligation estimate. For waterproofing the basement, Henrik suggested the installation of our WaterGuard® drainage system along with the floors of the basement, CleanSpace® Wall Vapor Barrier long the walls, a TripleSafe™ Sump Pump, and our SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier. The combination of these four products will help drain any and all moister to the sump pump. For the cracked and bowing basement walls, Henrik suggested the installation of our PowerBrace™ system along the walls of the basement to permanently stabilize the walls. With annual maintenance, the walls can also be straightened over time with the PowerBrace™ System.
Our DBS Foreman and crew then installed all the products into the home to ensure a dry, clean and permanently stabilized basement. The homeowner can now have a piece of mind knowing her basement is healthy, safe, and comfortable!
