Before our DBS team arrived, a church in Sandstone was facing high heating costs and uncomfortable cold due to insufficient attic insulation. As shown in the "before" photo, the uninsulated attic allowed heat to escape, leading to increased energy consumption. Our solution? Tru-Soft™ cellulose and Closed Cell Spray Foam insulation—visible in the "after" photo. This highly effective insulation system traps heat, transforming the attic into an energy-efficient space that retains warmth. As a result, the church now enjoys a more comfortable environment and lower heating bills, reflecting our commitment to providing long-lasting, energy-saving solutions.
This home in Holyoke, MN was facing some serious crawl space issues. Mice and critters were getting in, drain lines were freezing, and there was penetration in the floor system. They wanted a permanent, professional solution, so they turned to DBS for help.
Design Specialist Henry Jungbauer assisted this homeowner in a free, no-obligation estimate. After a careful inspection, Henry recommended that the homeowner fully encapsulate the crawl space to insulate, waterproof, and cover the space.
Foreman Nicholas Woods II led a team in the installation of this big project. Together, the team installed TerraBlock™ bottom crawl space insulation to stop any coldness coming from the soil and rising into the home. They also installed drainage matting to prevent more water intrusion in the space. Finally, they used CleanSpace® to create a smooth finish so that the space is able to be used for storage.
This homeowner will no longer need to worry about what is going on beneath their house, rather they can relax knowing everything is taken care of with DBS Solutions.
The owners of this cabin in Deer River, MN had recently purchased the property. They intended on doing major work on the structure before spending time there with kids and grandchildren as they were worried about the safety of the cabin. Looking for a solution, the owners reached out to DBS.
Design Specialist Henrik Makitalo went out to the property to conduct a free no-obligation estimate. Henrik advised the owners that the cabin was experiencing severe foundation issues along with energy efficiency issues. He quoted them for both foundation repair work and crawl space encapsulation and the owners hired DBS to do both sets of work.
Foreman Nick Woods II led the installation for the projects. With the help of a crew, they installed several SmartJack® supports, helical piers, and PowerBrace™ support systems to permanently stabilize the foundation of the cabin. Then, the crew moved on to the crawl space encapsulation portion of the project. They covered the ground with CleanSpace®, a thick, white poly vapor barrier material to waterproof the crawl space. After installing the CleanSpace® material, the crew air-sealed the space with closed-cell polyurethane spray foam.
Now that the cabin has been permanently stabilized and the crawl space has been encapsulated, the owners will be able to go about remodeling so that they are able to spend time with their families in their new retreat.
A Northwoods retreat in Two Harbors, MN had crawl space issues. Wetness and damage to the insulation produced a bad odor that affected the rest of the home. Looking for a solution to restore comfort to their home, the homeowners reached out to DBS about our crawl space encapsulation service.
Dr. Energy Saver Design Specialist Henry Jungbauer visited the home and completed a thorough inspection of the crawl space. Henry designed a plan that included removing the damaged insulation and replacing it with our crawl space encapsulation system.
DBS Foreman Nick Woods II led this crawl space repair project. After removing the damaged insulation, our team worked to address the moisture issues by installing a SmartDrain® crawl space drainage system.
