Customer had a finished basement with no windows or outside access, so she reached out to us for help, to not only add some natural lighting in the basement but also some exit points in case they need to escape during an emergency.
In Freeland, MD, a homeowner faced a significant concern with their property: the back wall of their garage was bowing inward, 70% of which was below grade. Facing potential structural issues, the homeowner sought the expertise of Quality 1st for a reliable and lasting foundation repair solution. We recommended the GeoLock Wall Anchor System, renowned for its strength and effectiveness in stabilizing compromised foundation walls. Our Production Team strategically installed heavy-duty steel earth anchors in stable soil areas at a distance from the garage’s foundation. These anchors were seamlessly connected to steel wall plates using galvanized steel rods, ensuring a robust framework. Once secured, we tightened the system, both stabilizing the wall immediately and offering potential for further straightening over time.
This customer contacted us looking to waterproof her basement as well as upgrade her sump pump to a newer system with an airtight lid and a battery-powered backup. We chose to offer her the Supersump System. This system features the Zoeller M63 1/3 HP pump, capable of pumping 2,650 gallons per hour, a Waterwatch Alarm System that sounds off if the water rises above the point where the pump should turn on, the Superliner basin and an airtight lid. This system also features a CleanPump Stand, which serves to elevate the the pump from any silt or sediment that may build up at the bottom of the basin. For the battery backup we installed the Ultrasump 4, which features an automatic switching system to keep your basement dry in case of a power outage, main pump failure, tripped breaker or simply an unplugged main pump.
To further waterproof her basement this customer also chose our Waterguard French Drain System and our Cleanspace Wall Liner, which is a 100% waterproof plastic barrier that helps guide any water seepage down to the drainage system.
For this project we came out and upgraded the basements current window to an Egress window. The material used for this job consisted of a 27 x 45 In-Swing Egress window, Bowman Kemp Metal Egress Well and Plastic Cover. We also installed a Well Duct Drain that connected to their current waterproofing system.
We were reached out to by the buyers of this of this property, while going through home inspections, one of the inspectors had pointed out that the pillars were not stable enough to support the house and they would need to be assessed as soon as possible.
We came out to the property to find the current support system made up of cinder blocks and 2 x 6s and we knew immediately our Smart Jack System was needed for this crawlspace.
We came out and installed 1 Supplemental Steel Beam with 2 Smart Jacks. SmartJack is a high- capacity adjustable steel pier that is designed to stop settling and can even raise your floor back to where it was.
