Before repairing this Saint-Roch-de-Richelieu home's crawl space, its dampness was more than just a menace; it was a problem waiting to warp its way into the very structure it stood on. Notice in the before photo how unwelcoming it appears. Now, after introducing CleanSpace into the equation, the transformation is unmistakable—as you can see in the after photo. This cutting-edge barrier now shields the area from moisture, ensuring a drier, healthier environment below. Our approach not only tackled the immediate concern but also safeguarded the home's future, aligning perfectly with our mission to deliver an exceptional customer experience and enduring solutions.
When the homeowner in Saint-Ours detected a musty and bad odor in their crawl space, it became evident that immediate action was required. Utilizing our CleanSpace encapsulation system and our SmartJacks, we effectively converted this previously damp and deteriorating area into a dry, fortified space. As demonstrated in the post-installation photo, the results are striking. By implementing a complete moisture barrier, we not only resolved the odor issue but also significantly prolonged the structural integrity of their home through a durable, long-term solution.
In Sainte-Angele-De-Monnoir, a homeowner was experiencing significant moisture and efflorescence problems in her crawl space, threatening both the comfort and structural integrity of her home, typical signs of a poorly sealed and ventilated space.
To remedy these issues, our team of experts installed a high-performance CleanSpace™ drainage system combined with our CleanSpace® membrane. The CleanSpace™ drainage mat optimizes water flow to peripheral drainage areas or to the sump pump, while the CleanSpace® membrane provides a robust, clean barrier that effectively limits future moisture accumulation.
In addition, we integrated the SmartSump™ sump pump system, specially designed for crawl spaces and fully compatible with the CleanSpace® liner. This system includes a robust pump and a watertight cover with WaterWatch® alarm that alerts you in the event of water infiltration or failure, helping to protect the crawl space from moisture, mold, and structural damage even during leaks or heavy rains.
Dry air in a crawl space is important for several reasons. The humidity is bad for the respiratory health of people who live in the house because the moist air aggravates the symptoms of asthma and allergies. Dry air offers better air quality and a more comfortable environment.
If you dry the air in the crawl space, the air rises throughout the house and makes it dry. In addition, moist air is expensive to cool. A SaniDry dehumidifier like the one we have installed at this customer's house allows you to dry and lighten the air in the crawl space and therefore throughout the house. Therefore it will cost you less to heat or cool.
The SaniDry dehumidifier is rated EnergyStar.
When a crawl space is wet or humid, it will support the growth of mold, mildew, and rot. As this mold damages the structural wood in your home, the structure can begin to sag.
This is why we needed to encapsulate this crawl space in Ste-Anne-De-Sorel, Qc.
We have installed a CleanSpace liner to lock out any moisture coming in, and our dehumidifier known as the SaniDry Sedona which is a self-draining system that eliminates the chore of emptying collection trays, while an air filter eliminates particles from the air as small as 2 microns!
