Water was infiltrating in the joint between the floor and the wall in this basement in Bon-Conseil.
The floor under the floor slab was getting wet, which was evaporating and moistening the concrete, leaving traces. When traces of water are visible, it is because the water has found a way to penetrate your basement.
We solved the problem by installing an interior waterproofing solution consisting of an inside drain that we install on the perimeter of the foundation on the footing, as well as a sump pump system that evacuates the collected water far from your home.
Below you can find the before and after pictures of this job.
To repair a crack in a concrete wall effectively and permanently, it is necessary to use a product that will not harden and crack again. When this crack is not a structural problem, we seal it with a product called FlexiSpan.
First, we plug the crack with urethane to block water infiltration and close the crack. Then, the first sealant of polyurethane ether foam is applied to drain the water that is found inside to the dry well.
Finally, the FlexiSpan sealant is made of polyurethane and is a gray color. It is a product that once affixed, becomes rubbery. This allows the crack not to let the water penetrate the basement even if it increases with time. The well is closed to finalize the project.
Another dry basement and a repaired crack!
PROBLEM
Persistent humidity in the basement is causing unpleasant odors, and mold stains are beginning to appear. Structural issues may arise if no action is taken in the near future.
SOLUTION
As planned, we began by installing the WaterGuard drainage system. The drain is placed on the foundation footing, away from mud and dirt to prevent clogging. Infiltrated water will be directly captured by the drain, thanks to the protruding lip that directs water from the walls directly into the system. Next, we installed our SuperSump sump pump system. This system features a reliable and high-performance 1/3 HP Zoeller cast iron pump, a pump liner, a sealed lid, a CleanPump support, and a WaterWatch alarm. Finally, we connected our interior drain to a discharge line that will lead water outside. This discharge line includes our patented IceGuard system, designed to prevent the risk of flooding in case the line freezes during cold periods.

Our specialist advised the installation of a complete drain perimeter called WaterGuard in order to recuperate the water that infiltrates before it spreads into the basement.
The gathered water is discharged into a sump equipped with two pumps. A main one with another that works with battery. This way, the system works even in case of a power cut.
Our client now benefits from a basement protected against water
