These Homeowners in Enfield, CT called us to their home because of drafty rooms. During our energy evaluation, we noticed that the insulation in their attic was old and inefficient. We also noticed many air leaks.
First we removed all of the old fiberglass insulation and properly disposed of the materials. We then vacuumed the attic and cleaned up any loose pieces of old materials. Next we installed our Super Attic treatment! This treatment uses EPS foam board on the rafters making sure to air seal in between each piece of Silverglo EPS foam board. This creates a thermal barrier to the attic ceiling. Once we do this we go around the attic making sure every crack is air sealed to make sure the attic is air tight.
Thanks to Dr. Energy Saver by Eco Energy Solutions, these homeowners can feel comfortable in their home all year round.
This Homeowner in Enfield, CT called us out to their home to increase the Energy Efficiency in their home. We did a full home energy evaluation. We noticed air penetrations around the rim joist or perimeter of the floor framing system.
Like most other homes, the rim joist was not insulated. It was letting in cold and dry air in the winter and hot humid air in during the summer. Which in results causes cold floors and drafty uncomfortable rooms. It also causes more condensation in the basement in the winter, and higher heating bills.
We sprayed the Rim Joist with our two part spray foam. This seals up all the gaps and cracks so air will not be able to enter the home.
Thanks to Dr. Energy Saver by Eco Energy Solutions, this home will be far more comfortable!
This homeowner called us baffled. She couldn't figure out why despite having newer windows and doors and a new(ish) roof, she could not keep the temperature comfortable in her home.
Upon evaluation, our Building Science Specialist was able to immediately determine that the home was not properly insulated or air sealed. This home's attic and basement were in need of treatments to make this home comfortable and energy efficient.
We removed and disposed of all existing, old batt insulation and prepped for new insulation in roof and knee walls, including air sealing. We installed a Super KneeWall™ System with SilverGlo™ and dense packed with TruSoft™ Cellulose. We then treated the basement by air sealing the Rim Joists with Closed Cell Spray Foam and Installing a new, Custom Exterior Door at the bottom of the hatch stairs. The basement improvements will reduce problematic cold floors and issues with dryness, humidity and allergens. "We Fix Uncomfortable Homes!"
This homeowner in Enfield, CT called in looking to insulate their attic, the home was not energy efficient and they were happy to be able to finally address it. The air that she was paying to heat and cool was escaping through her improperly air-sealed attic.
We first removed the old insulation and debris (including a deceased bat!) from the attic. With the space cleaned up, we air-sealed every space where air could leak from the home up into the attic. Lastly, we insulated with our blown-in TruSoft cellulose.
With the help of Fogarty's Home Services, this homeowner is now saving money and staying comfortable in her home.
Attic insulation in this customer's home was old and very dirty. Over many years, it sat there collecting dirt, dust, pollen, bugs, rodent feces (from mice, squirrels, bats, etc.), bird droppings and nests of all kinds of undesirable things. It's possible that old insulation like this can be moved aside for a proper air sealing job that must be done prior to adding enough TruSoft™ blown cellulose insulation to today's standards - but we removed the old, nasty insulation from our customer's home so she could start fresh. Fogarty's Home Services conducted the unpleasant task of removing the damaged, soiled insulation in her attic. The batt insulation was bagged and then the attic was vacuumed to remove pieces, parts and dust. Loose fill insulation was also vacuumed with a giant vacuum located outside with giant filter bags and a very long, fat hose. Result - Now our customer's attic is clean! It's ready for proper air sealing and installation of clean, new, fresh TruSoft™ cellulose insulation or one of our other Dr. Energy Saver strategies to make her home comfortable and energy efficient.
