When our team visited a home in Hudson, WI, we encountered a chilly situation. The before photo clearly shows an attic that simply wasn't cutting it – uninviting and under-insulated, leaving the homeowner concerned about energy efficiency and comfort. Our transformation? As the after photo gleams, we insulated with TruSoft™, filling in the gaps and coating the area with care. The change not just brightened up the space but also promised a cozier, more efficient home. The owner of this home in Harris, MN wanted an energy-efficient solution for their place. It was cold in the wintertime and they wanted to be able to use it year-round so they reached out to DBS.

Design Specialist Henrik Makitalo went to the home to conduct a free no-obligation estimate for the homeowner. After a thorough inspection, Henrik generated a quote for our Crawl Space Encapsulation Service.

Foreman Jason Foster led the installation of this project with assistance from a crew. Together they installed drainage matting on the ground in the crawl space and layered panels of TerraBlock™ foam insulation to protect the space against frost. Then they sealed the space using CleanSpace® water vapor barrier. To complete the job, the crew sprayed polyurethane spray foam insulation on the vertical walls in the crawl space.

Now that the crawl space has been properly waterproofed and insulated, the homeowners will notice that their living spaces are much warmer in the wintertime, allowing them to be able to use the space all year-round.

Foreman Evan LaFontaine led the installation of this project with assistance from a crew. Together they installed dimpled drainage matting to assist water flow in the crawl space. On top of that, they installed panels of TerraBlock™ insulation to provide a proper frost barrier and finished the encapsulation process by installing CleanSpace® water vapor barrier. To finish the insulation aspect of the project, the crew sprayed the vertical walls with our closed-cell polyurethane spray foam insulation.

Now that the crawl space has been properly insulated and waterproofed, the cabin owner will be able to enjoy warmer living spaces without having to pay higher heating bills!
