This Sparrows Point, MD, homeowner noticed persistent water seepage in their basement, which quickly raised concerns about the potential for structural decay, mold, and rot. With the situation worsening, they reached out to Quality 1st for a dependable, long-term solution to prevent further damage to their home. Our team performed a comprehensive inspection, assessing the severity of the water intrusion, and created a customized waterproofing plan designed to address every aspect of the moisture problem.
The solution included the installation of several state-of-the-art systems: our patented WaterGuard Drainage System to capture and channel water away from the foundation, the TrenchDrain System at entry points to prevent surface water from entering, CleanSpace Wall Panels to act as a moisture barrier and brighten the space, our IceGuard Discharge Line to prevent freezing during colder months, and our TripleSafe Sump Pump to provide maximum protection with backup support.
With these systems working together, the homeowner’s basement is now completely dry, healthy, and welcoming, free from any moisture-related issues.
In this newly finished basement, a wall was showing water intrusion from recent rainstorms. We were able to access the foundation wall where the water was coming in from to install our CleanSpace vapor barrier to capture the seepage. Once the studs were cut back, we were able to lay down the sub-floor drainage system that collects the water from the barrier and travels it to the sump pump. Our waterproofing system is designed to keep your basement clean and dry from any type of water.
This customer had a crack in his basement wall. When it rained, his sump pump wasn't efficient, so the leak created mold along the baseboard. We did a mold treatment with Mold X 2, fixed the crack with FlexiSpan. We installed some WaterGuard and a SUPERSUMP M63, replacing his old inefficient system.
This customer had a finished basement that they were looking to upgrade the flooring. Currently, the floor was wall to wall with beige carpet and they wanted to go for more of a hardwood floor look. Putting real hardwood floor in a basement is never a good idea, waterproofed or not, one pipe leak and that floor is ruined. Our inspector arrived at the property with some flooring samples and the winner was our ThermalDry Elite Plank flooring in Espresso.
Our ThermalDry Elite Plank flooring has a luxurious wood look and feel and is inorganic and water resistant. The flooring is also equipped with raised pegs that will suspend the planks above the cold, damp concrete floor, which can make the surface temperature up to 10 degrees warmer.
This customer already had foundation repair done on one side of her basement, then little by little the other side started to show signs of cracking throughout the block foundation. Worried about those foundation cracks, she reached out to us for help.
We came out and installed 11 Carbon Armor Strips. The Carbon Armor Strips contour tightly against the foundation wall and straps to the floor joist making a quick stabilization process for bowing or leaning walls.
